Richard Berg
General Manager - APAC
Richard Berg has worked since the 1996 in the IT and Telecoms Industry and has been with SmartTrust since 2002 where he now is General Manager for Asia Pacific. Mr. Berg was until the middle of 2010 the General Counsel of SmartTrust deeply involved in many of the largest customer projects carried out by SmartTrust and earlier was as well Managing Director of SmartTrust’s German subsidiary.
Immediately prior to joining SmartTrust, Mr. Berg held a position as Acting General Counsel of the Swedish Internet consulting firm Framfab where he took active part in a massive restructuring program to refocus the business of the company, which avoided its bankruptcy.
Between 1996 and 2001 Mr. Berg held a position as legal counsel for a joint venture between Ericsson and Hewlett-Packard also known as EHPT, which was then a leading provider of Customer Care and Billing Systems worldwide.
Prior to joining EHPT Mr. Berg lived for a few years in Italy where he worked for the Swedish Trade Council as well as two Italian law firms.
Fluent in several European languages, Mr. Berg graduated with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the Lund University in Sweden.
