Download of plug-ins and other extensions
SmartTrust WIB supports dynamic addition of plug-ins after card deployment. This white paper provides information about how this functionaity works and for what purposes it can be used. The technical requirements and possibilities for dynamic addition and removal of plug-ins are presented. This is done for different implementation platforms on the card such as native and java card.
Additionally, the white paper presents the possibilities offered through the new SmartTrust specification of interoperability between the Java and WIB environmnets and how that enables independed software developers to provide extension functionalities for WIB.
With the launch of the SmartTrust interaction specification for interaction between WIB and a Java card environment, the possible group of suppliers of extension functioanlities has grown.
