Service deployment
Once a service has been developed, it can be loaded to the (U)SIM in a variety of ways. For example during (U)SIM vendor personalization process, at point-of-sale, during the (U)SIM activation phase, via self-care accessed via a web page or SIM menu, by customer care (OTA), or by an OTA batch update to all or part of the subscriber base.

Service usage
After service selection from the SIM menu, the application on the SIM is initiated and sends a request to the content provider. The content provider returns the information and sends it to the handset through the SmartTrust platform or via another technology such as SMS, USSD, WAP or voice.

Service billing
Relevant and clear billing of services is essential for the services to be successful and generate a high level of usage. The SmartTrust platform has a highly flexible billing mechanisms and integration capabilities. It allows for real-time charging via online integration to billing systems, and offline billing through generation of CDRs.

Service personalization
The service menu on a subscriber’s SIM card can be personalized to fit their specific profile and needs. The subscriber can customize their service menu by adding and removing services. This can be done from a Web page, or directly from the SIM menu.
