SmartTrust JAM Server™

The Java Applet Management Server (JAM) provides a vendor-independent interface for performing Remote Applet Management (RAM) The JAM Server, provides the capability to manage Java ™ Card applets on the (U)SIM card. The JAM Server formats the RAM commands according to the RAM specifications listed in section 8. The major (U) SIM vendors' proprietary implementations are supported. The JAM Server handles transparently differences that might exist regarding the implementations of the Java Card run-time environment as well as the Remote Applet Management commands.

Java ™ Card applets can be either stand-alone Java ™ SIM Toolkit applets or Java plug-ins that are used and accessed from the SmartTrust WIB™. The JAM Server handles both types of applets.
