What is the SmartTrust Certified program?
SmartTrust Certified is a SIM certification program for testing and certifying SIM cards against SmartTrust DP (Delivery Platform). To get licensed to use SmartTrust specifications, you need to be a member of the program.
What is SmartTrust Certified?
SmartTrust Certified is the title awarded to a SIM card that has undergone and passed certification testing by us. All SmartTrust Certified SIM cards are listed here.
Who can become a member of the program?
All SIM vendors and software developers involved with SIM cards are welcome to join the certification program.
Why should I become a member of SmartTrust Certified?
A SmartTrust Certified card shortens time to market, saves you time and money, as well as ensure interoperability with SmartTrust DP.
As a member, you can get license to implement the following SmartTrust specifications:
- Wib 2.0
- Wib 1.3
- UTK Wib (for CDMA networks)
- Java API
The members also get:
- SIM Support during implementation and testing
- Access to SmartTrust test platform
- Certification testing by SmartTrust
- Marketing of all SmartTrust Certified SIM cards
SmartTrust Certified cards are supported by the our SmartTrust product support organization. Non-certified cards may generate additional support costs, if the operator has a Support and Maintenance agreement in place.

How do I become a member of the SIM certification program?
You sign the SmartTrust Certified Program License and Membership Frame Agreement.

How long does it take to get a SIM card certified?
It all depends on the implementation, and the implementer's experience. Sometimes the card passes in the first test round and sometimes more than one test round is required.

Subsequent test rounds are max 1 week
Step by step, what happens once you have decided to join the SIM certification program?
- Signing of the agreement.
- Developer's Toolkit distributed (implementation and test specifications and testing tools).
- Implementation phase.
- Tests by SIM vendor in SmartTrust test environment (SmartTrust DP).
- Book a test slot with SmartTrust SIM Certification.
- Certification testing by SmartTrust SIM Certification (same tests as by SIM Vendor).
- If the card fails, new test slot booked and corrected cards sent for a new test round.
- If the card passes the tests, a Test Summary and certificate are issued. The card is listed here (link)
What is SmartTrust ApprovedTM?
SmartTrust Approved is the title awarded to a Vendor Guaranteed card, which is a variant of a certified card. A SmartTrust Approved card is not tested by us. The Vendor guarantees the functionality of the card. All SmartTrust Approved cards are listed here.
To apply for a SIM card to be SmartTrust Approved, you need to sign the Addendum No.1 to the SmartTrust Certified Program License and Membership Frame Agreement.
How do I get SIM Support?
